I had never used a lip mask before. The directions said “apply generously,” so I just took a scoop and would rub it on my lips and press them together. I would do this before bed and just wake up with a goopy cast on my lips, but they were moisturized decently. I switched to a different brand that I liked more but came back to this again. When I applied this time around, I lightly tapped the mask into my lips using my ring finger with the same amount of pressure that I would tap in an eye cream under my eyes. I did this before bed and wow - completely different results! I still get a slight cast on my mouth, but it’s nowhere near as goopy. I don’t know if that is just standard for applying a lip mask, but I highly recommend tapping it in for best results. The tingling sensation isn’t that bad, especially once you get used to it. I’ve found my best lip hydration results with another brand so I don’t know if I will purchase this for myself again, but this is really good for this price point. That being said, I would gladly pay more for a glass component. The extra plastic and the unclear instructions (maybe that’s my fault for not knowing lip mask best practice, but I digress) are why I gave four stars instead of five. Love that it’s a vegan and cruelty free formula that can deliver good results.
