## Description

Product Description These patches are low-maintenance stop smoking aids that are the final step in the stop smoking program. Featuring Extended Release SmartControl Technology, these patches work by releasing a steady flow of therapeutic nicotine that is absorbed through the skin for a full 16 or 24 hours. This helps prevent the urge to smoke. Brand Story By Nicoderm

Review: They work - I used to smoke a pack a day. I have quit cold turkey. The first 3 days are the worst. Unfortunately, I tried a vape. I have bad anxiety and my brother gave me one & it helped. It eventually became an expensive habit. I have quit a few times. Right now I am down to 2mg Nicorette gum. I have quit once before using these, then used the gum to help with depression and low energy. Rn I don’t have to money to keep buying the gum. So I have finally decided to quit the gum(even the Walmart brand adds up $38 for 160). You can’t eat or drink anything 15 minutes before or after using the gum. So can cause issues with dehydration, since nicotine is a diuretic. I am starting out at step two and don’t foresee any issues. Once I run out of the gum, which should be 7-8 days. I will be using these, then going to 7mg and quitting. I usually use Nicorette for the first patches, then switch to a cheaper alternative. I used to get rite aid patches. They worked great, but they no longer sell them, since rite aid went out of business. I don’t see any other patches with good ry Here are a few tips and things you may experience: First wipe the area. It will work better. Put it on and push down hard on it for about a minute. The heat from your hand will help it stick better. Second, I have seen negative reviews about redness and rashes. That is perfectly normal and goes away in several hours. It even mentions it on the box. They are clear and you will see it red under the patch. That is the med working. It doesn’t hurt, but is definitely noticeable. Third, this is made by GSK. So they have better quality control. They aren’t cheap, but absolutely work. You won’t have anxiety and won’t need to smoke. I have used each step for a month last time. Step two should be fine for me though. I have also heard some people have weird dreams while on them. If this happens. Take the patch off at night and apply the next morning. I never had that problem. It can itch sometimes . It can be very annoying, but will go away in less than 15 minutes. If you are really trying to quit. Forget the gum or lozenges. You put this on in the morning and go about your day. You won’t be thinking abut cigarettes. I would definitely recommend these. The cost is high, but you will save money in the long run. Also, apply it after a shower. I wouldn’t recommend wearing these in the shower.
Review: ITS NOT STICKY BUT WHO CARES!? MAKE IT WORK! IT WORKS! - Does it work? It works better than any of them. Is it that sticky? No. 🧐Should you use a bandaid or athletes tape to press that thing to your skin? Yes! Because if you’re at the end of your rope and want to stop.. you’ll do that. Do any of the other brands stick better? No. I’ve tried so many it’s ridiculous. Does it irritate your skin? Rash and redness? Yes. Slap the area a few times, pain will go away. Where should you put it and when? An area that isn’t sensitive. Best time is when your out of the shower and don’t have all the oils in your skin. Or just wash and dry the spot prior to placement. I can’t even count how many “quits” I’ve been through.. vaping!! Vaping is a royal pain in my neck! I literally couldn’t stop. Need it when I wake up, before shutting eyes for sleep, in the car, everywhere. I hit it casually every 5 to 10 min. It’s bad. I hate the side effects of vaping but I’m addicted. The worst is that it makes me tired. I started with the Step Two because Step One is out of my league. As much as I smoked/vaped I couldn’t hold down a Step One. I vaped a 6 salt nic vape and Step One was outrageous! Anyways. I know it’s not sticky but make it work!! Because this is literally keeping me back for the first time! 🤗🤗 you got this!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: My biggest problem is inability to stay asleep even when I take patch off at bedtime. Anyone else have this problem?**
A: At first I did, it got better with time. Just made me dream more and vividly!!!!

**Q: How can you get this to stick? Every time I use one it falls off. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.**
A: Athletic tape. At first I thought I was the only one dealing with this problem. I initially had a slight reaction to the clear patches (itchiness) but after reading the comments, I tried athletic tape and it works wonderful. These patches aren't cheap and I've already had one fall off and I'm only 5 days in and I cleaned and dried my skin as the directions said but that didn't work either. Anyone reading this, just get some athletic tape and you won't have to worry. I swear these big tobacco companies want to keep us hooked to nicotine. I can say that I've tried every single patch out there and this brand helps a lot and it especially helps with food cravings. With other brands as soon as I quit smoking even with another brand, I craved sweets so bad but with these ones I don't but I think everyone is different. I actually went to the 14 mg because even though I vape ( a lot) the 21 mg would make me shaky sometimes so I decided to go down to the 14 mg and use the gum if I had a major craving. So far, so far. I wish everyone much success on your quitting journey!

**Q: I know this is labeled & sold to stop from smoking cigarettes- but has anyone used this to wean off of Snus? Both are transdermal...**
A: That’s what used it for. I chewed and worked just to keep from getting the nicotine withdrawals, anger, and irritability.

**Q: I have been using the 21 ml for over 6 weeks and had no problem craving a cigarette. today I started the 14 ml patch and am craving nicotine all day?**
A: 2. Days cravings will stop

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Recipe to Quit
*by A***R on July 5, 2020*

I am a smoker of about 20 years that smoked about a pack a day. I loved having one to relax, enjoy weather on the patio or with a drink. To be clear, I have never wanted to stop smoking, but I knew it was something that needed to happen. I have attempted to stop three times and I will take the time to highlight my failed and successful attempts because it is worth it. Before we start, smoking is a chemical and psychological addiction, which I think we all know. I see two factors to it. Not only are we addicted to the nicotine, but we are addicted to the habit and emotional responses that are tied to the habit. First Attempt (not successful): This attempt was a long time ago. I used Chantix and it assisted in no way for me. Personally, I don't recommend this. Second attempt (more successful): I was prescribed Buproprian or Wellbutrin. Buproprian assists with the nicotine withdraws. It took about a week to get used to the medication and it was uncomfortable the first few days like with any medication. It initially made me really tired and I slept a lot. I was also really emotional about breaking up with smoking. It felt like a true breakup because I was so attached to the habit. You feel the new chemical in your body. You smoke for two weeks while on the medication and select a hard cutoff date. I found the medication extremely helpful with curving cravings. In addition to the medication, I used a vape with liquid that contained no nicotine. I was successful with this for 6 months. HERE IS WHERE I FAILED: The vape kept the addiction to the habit and when I went out to have drinks socially, towards the end, I gave myself allowances by having a drag or just smoking one. Eventually it leads to more than one, then just one pack and finally, you are smoking again. You CANNOT give yourself allowances. Last attempt (most successful): I was already on Lexapro (anti-depressant/anxiety/10MG) this time which is also supposed to assist with the withdraws and curve cravings. I added Buproprian (150MG) again. While both assist with withdraws, I assume that Buproprian alone will work, but have not tested that with the rest of the factors I am about to list. This combo made me extremely tired where I slept all day. So I cut both medications in half and that worked in regard to the medications. If I was only taking Buproprian without Lexapro, I would take the full amount and not half it. In addition, I added the patch to it. I knew this time, no vape and no allowances. First few days: I wanted a cigarette, but didn't need one. 1-3 weeks, you minds breaks ties with the habit part (i.e.--being outside on your favorite patio, smoking after eating). It is kind of a trip, you think "oh, I need to go smoke a cigarette right now". Not because you are craving it, but because you trained yourself to. You then remember that you cannot. After 2-3 weeks, you have already replaced the habit portion with other daily habits--even if it is being in all of the same places, but with the absence of smoking. I have tested many options and read 1000s of reviews on how to stop smoking. If you don't want to spin your wheels and become discouraged, I suggest looking into the last option I listed. As a once hardcore smoker that couldn't imagine my life without it. I can say that the first couple of days are a little uncomfortable, you forget about the habit a few weeks in. I feel like the craving goes away before your miss of the actual habit. Ultimately, there is some residual. Maybe once a month, a thought pops into my head that a cigarette would taste really good right now, but it quickly goes away. It is nothing I would act on again. The residual is missing the memories of the taste. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
