Review: A New Parent's Must-Have Savior - As a first-time mom to a teething 8-month-old with super sensitive skin, this 14 oz jar of Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment has been an absolute game-changer for our daily battles with drool rash, chapped cheeks, and the occasional diaper rash flare-up. From the moment we started slathering it on during every diaper change and after meals, we saw visible improvements-red, irritated skin calmed down overnight, and by day two, it was smooth and protected again, thanks to its 41% petrolatum formula that locks in moisture while letting skin breathe. We've tossed out every other cream because nothing else matches its gentle, fragrance-free power; it's pediatrician-recommended for good reason, preventing chafing and healing minor irritations faster than anything we've tried. The massive jar lasts forever-over two months of heavy use-and it's versatile enough for my own dry hands too, making it a family staple. If your little one deals with dry, chapped skin or rash woes, drop everything and grab this; it's earned its permanent spot in our nursery rotation with flying colors!
Review: Not just for human babies - My ill senior cat was not eating as much as she should. She dropped weight quickly and we expected the worse. Vet prescribed an appetite stimulant ointment that had to be applied to inside of my fur babies delicate ears. The appetite stimulant helped with her appetite but would cause her ears to be inflamed, irritated, dry, chapped, peel and caused major discomfort. After a while the ears would look raw. It was sad. On one end I needed her to eat hence instructed not to stop the medication, but on the other I did not want to cause her this discomfort. Vet recommended baby aquaphor healing ointment. Aquaphor is a known reputable brand so I did not hesitate yet still looked it up first. I mean this was my baby we were talking about. Perhaps not human but my baby nonetheless. I immediatly appreciated that it confirmed to not have any fragrances, dyes, or preservatives. With that peace of mind we started alternating ears. When one ear didn't have the med we would gently wipe with warm water, pat dry than apply the baby aquaphor. The next day we would do the other ear with aquaphor and so forth. This was a game changer. Slowly but surely her ear skin improved. Less redness, less dryness, less peeling. Eventually there was no more rawness. No more discomfort. I didn't feel as guilty putting on the medication. Found baby aquaphor also worked great for her senior, dry, cracked paws as well. The aquaphor applied on smooth and absorbed nicely without leaving any major greasiness. Cat beds nor my bed were left smeared with this, which I definitely appreciated. Because I was only using it for ears and paws this tube lasted quite a while. I felt tube hard to squeeze at times and felt a jar would have been better but I made due with the tube. If you have a broader need I would suggest the jar instead. In my opinion the baby aquaphor was worth the price because it helped my fur baby. We were able to continue the appetite stimulant and thanks to this we got another year with her.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can adults use this also?**
A: Adults can use this, but just FYI this is not the same as the “adult” Aquaphor Healing Ointment. There are a couple additional ingredients in this baby version to specifically help diaper rash.

**Q: We love aquaphor for our baby but have never used the tub version, just the squeeze tubes. Do you dip your finger into this? Bacteria?**
A: I don’t have this product, but I have a tub of Cera Ve. I buy a smaller container (like a tiny travel sized jar for cosmetics) and use a silicone applicator “brush” to put some in the tiny travel jar. I never stick my fingers in my bigger original jar. That way I’m only contaminating a little bit that I know will be used quickly. Or you can just use an applicator and wash it every time.

I plan to buy some aquaphor for my son who gets chapped cheeks and chin. I will plan on
Using the little jars so they’re easier to travel with and keep us from contaminating the full jar.

**Q: What is the difference between the normal advanced therapy version and the baby formula?**
A: For years now I have noticed the only difference between the regular Aquaphor and the Baby Aquaphor is $1. The company is charging $1 for the name Baby to be on the label. Ingredients are exactly the same.

**Q: I seem to get outbreaks of eczema on my legs and sometimes, my arms. Will this get rid of the ugly red spots?**
A: Placing ice cubes (wrapped in a towel) on the affected area is one of the best and easiest ways to relieve eczema itching and burning sensation. Moreover, the water trickling from ice hydrates the skin. In case you do not have ice cubes, you may wrap a packet of frozen peas in a towel and use it as a cold compress.Application of extra-virgin coconut oil can prove highly beneficial in getting rid of eczema because it has natural moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, it maintains the natural chemical balance of the skin and forms an antimicrobial barrier on skin. It is best to apply coconut oil after taking your bath or shower. Besides, you may apply a bandage dipped in warm coconut oil.Applying pure aloe vera gel, too, is useful in soothing and curing eczema rashes. When dealing with chronic eczema worsened with Staph infection, you can take a dilute bleach bath. For this, you need to add a quarter to half a cup of bleach in a tub filled with lukewarm water. You can use regular chlorine bleach for this purpose. Just soak in the solution for about 10 minutes, at most twice a week.If you are looking for a natural alternative, then take an oatmeal bath. You can create this bath either by using pure colloidal oatmeal or grinding rolled oats/quick oats in a coffee grinder.Just mix a cup of oatmeal in a tub filled with warm water (make sure you break the clumps at the bottom) and soak in this soothing bath for about 15-20 minutes. You can take this bath once or twice daily.Burdock root contains a several medicinal properties. Hence, it is considered good for healing a number of skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, carbuncles, ulcers, etc. You can drink burdock tea and apply a paste or salve prepared by grinding this herb.Steroid creams are useful for reducing itching and inflammation. Thus, you can put a thin layer of some corticosteroid cream or ointment on the affected area.To make this treatment more effective, apply an emollient on skin about 15 minutes before applying the steroid cream. Follow this remedy once or twice daily.Interestingly, topical chamomile creams also work as mild steroid creams. If nothing else works, your doctor may prescribe topical immunosuppressants or other medications.Phototherapy or ultraviolet light treatment is considered helpful in the treatment of eczema for mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. It is usually performed at hospitals under the supervision of a dermatologist. This treatment is mostly undertaken when the condition becomes widespread and does not respond to any medications.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Baby Essential We Use Every Single Day
*by S***N on July 7, 2026*

We’ve been using Aquaphor since our daughter was born, and it’s one of those products we simply never go without. We use it at every diaper change and keep this travel-size bottle stocked at home, in the diaper bag, and at daycare. I love this packaging because it’s portable without being too small. It holds enough product that I’m not constantly refilling or replacing it, but it’s still easy to throw into a diaper bag and take anywhere. One feature I especially appreciate is the small opening. It helps keep the product clean, which gives me peace of mind when sending it to daycare and having multiple people use it throughout the day. Aquaphor itself has been fantastic for preventing and soothing diaper rash, and this bottle makes it incredibly convenient to use. We love it so much that we keep Aquaphor on subscription. Nothing fancy—just a classic baby necessity that has worked exactly as expected. Highly recommended for any parent.
