Whenever the temp inside the power supply reaches a level which it determines needs to be cooled, it will increase the speed of the internal fan to lower the temp. This may happen for any number of reasons any of which can happen without you having done anything with batteries or power supplying. Firstly it was delivered within 5 days [awesome] next it really does the job well in all aspects. Yes its a little noisy but who charges these things in the bedroom, mine is in my man cave so its not a problem. Only minor gripe is that you have to unplug the whole thing to turn off. Otherwise its brilliant and well worth the money.
