They are real, solid leather, and made to look aged. The fit is spot on with a very soft leather nubuck adjustable chin strap. There is also a small pouch inside the hat where you can place a pad to adjust the fit, if required. These are very well made. Delivery was also fast, well packaged and arrived undamaged. I'm so pleased that I've purchased the light brown one for my wife. I've had a similar one for years and it was time for a new one. Sun or rain, it gives good cover.It is proper, great quality leather and, as I expected, has the occasional natural blemish. I used Leather Genie to treat it when it first arrived and what a difference it made to its appearance. Beautiful.On arrival it felt sturdy. First impressions were that it felt hard and not quite the right shape for my head but its natural leather so I wore it around the house for a few hours and it began to soften and adjusted to me.
