Water lettuce provides a floating rosette of attractive foliage that resembles lettuce. The plants float in ponds and water features, forming dense clumps of leaves. The leaves remain dry while the long roots dangle freely in the water. The plants shade the water and the floating roots leach nutrients from the pond. Water lettuce grows naturally as a tropical perennial. In colder climates, grow the plant as an annual or bring it indoors to overwinter. Your fish will love them. They will appreciate the shade, shelter, and food provided. Increases oxygen in the water. They grow extremely fast, especially with lots of sun exposure. They are 100% chemical free and are fish safe. These plants prefer calm waters. Place them away from waterfalls or water currents or they can perish. Koi fish will eat these plants so if you are not planning to feed your fish with this plant do not buy.

I have lots of healthy new growth on the water lettuce and water hiacynth, and the parrot feather has recovered and is doing better with a little bit of new growth. My frogs and tadpoles LOVE the plants, and they have made a world of difference in the health of my pond. UPDATE: Still happy! I have purchased this package three times (not all of my plants survive harsh winters), and I am satisfied every time. I have seen other reviews talking about the fact that the plants are small and there are only a few (what you get is exactly as the product is described, BTW). Trust me - they are more than enough! I bought these plants for my small frog pond. I honestly wasn’t expecting much ordering water plants over the internet, especially since the plants shipped from the opposite coast, but I have been very pleased with my purchase. The price was reasonable, the plants were well-packaged, and they arrived earlier than predicted. There was understandable decay on the roots, and the parrot feather was in pretty bad shape, but because of the price and swift delivery, I didn’t really mind. I liked the fact the water plants came well packaged and in excellent shape very green and in good condition. And that the vendor communicated that they would replace any plants that came damaged or in very poor shape. That made me very likely to buy again from them!! They are multiplying, healthy and blooming away in my pond and look beautiful! Highly recommend !
