## Questions & Answers

**Q: How can I charge it?**
A: It will charge by several means. There's a built in AC charger that you can plug in with any extension cord and that will automatically stop charging once full (shown with the yellow or green lights on front). You can also charge it from a car using a cable like the Clore ESA1 plugged into the lighter plugs (and car power is also regulated where it won't overcharge it). Solar panels can charge it, but they often can "overcharge" it if you don't get a "charge controller" to limit them (and they can be connected thru the lighter plug also). It will accept power thru the jumper cables like a running car right after a "jump" will be charging it, yet they suggest the other slower charges much more than that (since this has a small battery where high power use for jumps or high charges is really hard on them). If you have a more specific question feel free to add comments.

**Q: For most people (not auto pros) can anyone explain whether it's better to have this type of jump starter or the smaller lithium-ion type?**
A: Not sure I see a big difference in lithium versus these sealed lead acid (besides weight), they are both batteries that carry a given quantity of power, need routine charging, etc. There may be details in differences to consider about each pack that may be factors in the decision you make. For example, this JNC660 has no "reverse connection alarm" or fool-proofing against connecting the jumper cables wrong if you're afraid of doing that, yet the JNC770 packs do have the alarm as well as the lithium ones (the JNC311 or JNC318). Actually, the Lithium packs (311 and 318) have a feature where it must detect at least 2V from the "dead" car battery to be sure it's connected correctly or it won't send power thru it's jumper cables. Some have reported "It wouldn't start me since the car was really dead at 0V" showing that was a problem for them more than a benefit. So things like that may be more the factors to look at versus battery guts when making a decision. I have personally used packs like this more for powering some things while camping versus jumping cars, so if you have questions about how long it lasts or such add comments with specifics.
