I was using a long cable lock prior to changing to this lock. I had someone with experience recommend a lock that attached to the wheel through the disc plate but when I'm loaded down bending over isn't easy. I also don't have a garage and am open to the elements so I wanted something quick and easy to use.My handle bars are thick so I don't use the rubber adapters that came with the lock. I find that it can take two hands to use most of the time, one to hold the bar closed once I have the brake handle in it and the other to push the button, But I don't think about where I'm positioning my hands when grab the lock, the lock and button work easily. The button is never stiff unless I don't have the grip clasped closed all the way.The one drawback that I have found is that my mirrors are attached to the bike at the breaking system and the lock will loosen it over time and I'll have to re-tighten my mirror. I think that this is a fair trade for ease of use and convenience. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Lock broke while on my handlebars, left me stranded *by R***W on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2015* This looks like the Grip-Lock. It's a third of the price. What could possibly go wrong? Let me tell you...Within the first week of using this lock it left me stranded in a strip-mall parking lot while I was running an errand. I tried to unlock it and the key pulled out the entire lock mechanism. Unfortunately, the Caps-Lock did not unclamp from the handlebar. Now, with nowhere left to put the key, I was forced to try and pry the seams open with a screwdriver I carry under the seat. To its credit, it did not come close to unclamping. The plastic is as durable as the description claims, an absolute nightmare for an unexperienced bike thief, but without a working key you kind of become a bike thief yourself, so...not so good. Luckily for me, there was a Home Depot across the street so I was able to walk over and get a pair of needle-nose pliers to extract the several broken pieces of the lock from the housing (see photo). Once I did that, the whole thing popped open and I had freed my bike from this disaster. Minutes of my life lost: about 55.
