Review: This DOES FIT 2004 Ford Explorer - I purchased this for my 2004 Ford Explorer and it works perfectly. I originally purchased the desertcart recommended FC-974 and it was nowhere close to fitting! I read information that for what ever reason Ford used a few different styles of fill-neck and cap combinations. I had to go to the Ford website and using my VIN# it gave me the correct part number for this cap. desertcart needs to refine their search engine a little and consumers, including myself, need to research a little better. I can also recommend to sellers to provide better pictures and information to potential buyers. Showing just the top of the fuel cap doesn’t provide any useful information at all!

I purchased this for my 2004 Ford Explorer and it works perfectly. I originally purchased the Amazon recommended FC-974 and it was nowhere close to fitting!
