To answer the question is dependent on the model or the bundle options with either a analog or digital thermostat or wifi controller. In order to use the eWeLink app you have to select the panel that comes with the wifi/digital thermostat option. The base 400 watt version comes with a analog thermostat. These panels are pretty neat, this past winter I decided to stop using my central ac's heat pump. I added a couple Benton Art Glass heaters, one of these and two HCX9115 to heat my 2000sqr ft home. In doing so I dropped my heating costs by more than 40%. The base Ecohome panel I bought had a analog thermostat, which I upgraded to a digital thermostat as it's way more precise. Truth be told I tried about twenty different heaters and half a dozen different technologies. **Q: Would this work in a room with a hot tub? Indoor but unheated.. It comes with a thermostatic outlet adapter instead. This adapter is bulky and since it's plugged in at the floor outlet, you have to get on your knees to adjust the temperature. It's also not very secure feeling in the outlet, so a slight bump and it will unplug (or worse, partially unplug). I unboxed and immediately noticed a terrible smell Like a cross between cow manure and poison. I assumed the smell would dissipate after it had been running for some time. I ran this on high in a 100 sq foot room for 48 hours. During this time, it was approximately 40 degrees outside. The heater never heated the room above 55. The smell did not change at all after 48 hours of running. This does not heat well and the smell is unbearable.
