The first time we used it we had to unplug the unit, let it sit a while, then plug it in and start it. Then after it emptied the water tank the first time we had to repeat the process but since then we have had no problems. It is the professional look. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Lasted 3 months ;( *by Z***E on February 1, 2016* The machine is easy to use and the ice is quite nice. I had no problems until it stopped working after only 3 months of use.I used this machine daily, which I don't believe it is made for. I only used highly filtered water and placed it in an ideal location without moving it. the problem is that it doesn't siphon the water from the water tank to fill the tray - it doesn't even attempt to. I've tried unplugging and allowing it sit. I've cleaned the valve - everything I can think of other than taking it apart, which I'm not confident in doing being that I would have no idea what to look for. It just doesn't work. And it's already past the deadline for returning.I would expect this machine to stop working after a year or so, given that it was used daily. However, three months is just ridiculous after paying nearly $200.I wouldn't suggest this machine if you are needing it daily. Although, it would probably be a good investment for intermittent use.TIP: Because the fan on the side of the machine blows out warm air, I suggest not sitting too close to anything where the air can blow back onto it. Otherwise, the ice will be very wet because the environment is too warm. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good purchase *by N***M on February 6, 2016* Works great, makes plenty of ice, quiet, looks nice. Protective plastic coating was put on before assembly so it is a little challenging to remove. I cube sizes are the same but small sizes are more hollow and medium less then large are the most solid. This will work out great this summer for fishing trips, and in the RV on vacation. In an average 3 - 4 week RV trip we will usually have to buy enough ice to pay for this machine. ### ⭐ Returned Unit *by M***0 on April 7, 2016* Sorry to say but I had high hopes for this unit,but was disappointed. Unpacked it, did take some time to get the plastics wrap that covered this machine. Followed previous posts about letting unit sit overnight to settle the coolant down. STARTED UP IN MORNING FOLLOWING DIRECTION TO THE LETTER. Everything worked pump,ladle and it sounded like I was in business, one problem it wouldn't make ice. Maybe it was just a bad unit,,was hoping for better. Anyone have any similar problem?
