You need to know how to apply them properly. You Tube videos help. Second, you need to have realistic expectations. Eyelid lifts will not work miracles, and everyone's eyelids are a little different. Obviously, the results will be different depending on one's age and ethnicity. If what you really need is to have your eyebrows lifted, eyelid tapes won't help that much. Having said all that, I must say that these eyelid lifts do work better than the self-stick kind -- at least for me. They're more flexible and certainly a bit less noticeable under eye shadow. They come in different sizes, and size does matter. But the description they provide on the Amazon page gives you a pretty good set of guidelines for different eye shapes. The glue that comes with them is like eyelash glue, but I think it works better. The tools they give you are pretty useless. I just use my own tweezers. I found it was hard to remove the lace from the backing unless you use tweezers to grip the fabric in the middle and pull from there, rather than trying to peel them away from the edges. This distorts the shape of the lace a little bit, but it reverts pretty quickly after you apply the glue. The instructions say to apply the glue to the lace while laying it on a little plastic pad they provide. I found it works just as well or better to apply the glue directly on your eyelid. A couple of official You Tube videos I found for this particular product show people doing exactly that. The glue sticks to your fingers if you try to handle the tape, so you have to be careful of that. And the tapes do sort of itch a little bit after you apply them, maybe from the glue, but not so much that you need to scratch them off.Now, with all that said, I do feel I need to add one more thing that pertains more to Amazon reviews than to the product itself. When I opened the package for these tapes, a note fell out that offered me a "FREE GIFT" if I would "submit a review on Amazon of [my] (great) purchase experience and send [my] order ID to our email below . . . ." For my troubles, I would get another set of eyelid tapes.Call me priggish, if you will, but I do not approve of this sort of gentle bribery. I have placed a lot of value on honest, unsolicited reviews on Amazon, and this practice really undermines my trust -- both in the potential reviewers and the company -- and not just for this particular product. However, this eyelid tape is a perfect solution for me and its easy to handle and apply.The width is the widest I've found. I purchased a narrower tape which was very difficult handling and applying so I looked for a wider tape and tried this.I applied the tape where my lid folds, applied some glue then stood in front of a fan for a minute.I like this product. I had been diagnosed with hemi facial spasm and as my eye was getting better, I read that glue or tape could help my now left eyelid which was lower down than the right. I purchased the small and medium, the medium worked great for me, it really works perfect! I had previously tried glue, which was not easy to use, this is by far easier to use and looks so good, I am definitely ordering more!
