Review: Don’t hesitate at this price point. ($20 + shipping) - I ordered this classic enamel cast-iron rounded casserole in a 3 quart size in order to make smaller loaves of sourdough bread. So far I have cooked basmati brown rice and black beans with veggies in it and they have turned out wonderfully. The item is well made with no defects or chips in the enamel. I love cooking in cast-iron and appreciate the even heat dispersion. I took a chance ordering this at a markedly reduced rate in a color I would not have otherwise chosen. I’m glad I did. The item shipped very quickly across country and arrived in pristine condition. The second one is on the way. The color is very neutral, almost like sage/putty. The inside finish is more of a creamy white. I can highly recommend. I have had other Cuisinart enamel cast-iron that have held up extremely well with oven and stove use. They are heavy, but that reflects the density of the cast-iron. I did some research into similar sized pots and apparently there have been issues with some of the other name brands (MS) having the enamel explode at high heat. I chose to go with a known product that I have been very happy with.
Review: Great Product - I use this every week and it does a great job. The only issue is that it can be heavy. Aside from that, it's a great product for a great price.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: made where?**
A: Folks,p lease don't listen to "kbuell" about Staub, as **all of Staub's enameled cast iron items are still enameled in France.** (Staub's all-ceramic/clay cups, dishes, etc. are the **only** Staub items Staub manufactures in China. In contrast, **all** of Staub's enameled cast iron -- including full-sized, non-mini 'Cocottes,' 'Fry Pans', etc. -- are still made in France.) Oh, and BTW, the U.S.-based fulfillment center of Staub's manufacturer -- German company Zwilling Henckels -- is a major employer in upstate New York.

I'm not against products made in China per se, but I do try to avoid cookware manufactured in China because of chemical-leeching and off-gassing issues, so I research the heck out of every piece of cookware I buy. Telephone calls to Staub's U.S. headquarters as recently as just last week (07/22/20) confirmed the data that I've given above. Staub enameled cast iron is still forged and enameled in France.

**Q: I recently bought this in 5quart size. Tag says top lid can only be heated to 350 deg but the no-knead bread I'm baking requires 450 deg. Is this ok?**
A: They must've corrected this as the description says (at least for the 7 quart model) "Oven safe knob for a durable grip and endless cooking options." That doesn't help folks with older models, but it is reassuring to those of us considering buying one.

**Q: what are the interior dimensions of this pan? several reviews say the listed depth is incorrect.**
A: Measured from the INSIDE of the dish, mine measured 2 7/16''. I think the other measurements are taken from the OUTSIDE of the dish which makes it sound much deeper. I think pyrex is measured from the outside also, but because this dish is so thick on the outside, it adds a lot of measurement that is NOT on the inside depth. I can get 4 layers of lasagna into this baby, and use it for large casseroles easily.

**Q: how deep is the dish for the 7 qt?**
A: It's about 7.5" deep and about 11" across.
