Very disappointed. UPDATE: This device works. Record every session bc upon playback you are going to hear A LOT of voices you couldn’t hear in real time. Warning: this is the same as using a ouija board, so if you were ever told not to play with a ouija board then you don’t want to mess with this device, it is NOT A TOY. I captured more than I thought, but it wasn’t my dad. I’m still disturbed by the only word that could possibly have been from him: “Help!” Now I gotta figure out what to do with that response to the question: “are you ok, Dad?” Review: Would’ve paid anything for the conversation I had - I rarely write reviews, but felt I needed to for this product. I took this to my daughters house to use for the first time. It was built in the 1800’s and I’ve had an interesting EVP session there in the past. Figured I would end up talking to a farmer or his family, but this quickly proved to not be the case. After asking about when they lived there, if they had children, occupation and other basic questions I had heard nothing that I would have made me believe that something was communicating. Then I asked do you know me? And it was on. I lost my 61 year old mother to an aneurysm 19 months ago. We were an extremely close family and we are all having a difficult time moving on without her. She answered almost every question immediately and clearly for about 45 minutes and we were the ones who chose to end the session. It was shocking, exhilarating, frightening, intense and comforting and rolled into one. It’s just a radio.** A: Yes, but you are scanning channels, incredibly fast and what you are actually listening for are possible spirits speaking in between the channels where you hear the white noise. **Q: why does this model say am and fm and others are same model but only fm?** A: You can get scans on both am and fm. Sometimes the frequency works better on AM then FM depending where you are located. It gives you that option. **Q: Does it show words received on a screen? having words from prev sessions helped me w/sim products.** A: No, it does NOT display any received words. The display (screen) shows the frequencies being received as it scans through the band, and other information such as AM or FM, scan rate, battery condition.
