    Ready for some snow action!

I have to disagree with the one rating that is next to mine. its a great glove...for tactical operations and photo shoots, its awesome. It keeps your hands warm at zero below with the full mitten cover. If you need to get that nimbleness, just take the cover off and you have fingers. The inside pockets for warmers is really a great idea. The only issue i have is with sizing. I wear a Mens medium, a medium glove from Home Depot, like a glove used for construction. If you wear a medium in that, you can fit a size 7, that is XS. I got small and it fits fine, but slightly on the loose end. if you want super skin tight fit, that is next to skin like, get two sizes smaller. If you are large, a small would be perfect for that skin tightness on the inside glove. I purchased a small, but I also have an XS, and I prefer the XS when it comes to using more of my fingers than the Small. remember, i always wear a Mens Medium Reg.others may disagree, but I found that a size smaller or even two sizes smaller is better.

    Great gloves but not perfect

Used these to do night photography in Northern Finland. Temps were down to -5F. Took some practice with the zippers, pulling them on/off right and tucking the thumb inside. You will probably want to practice before doing any critical activities.Pro’s - Great overall design. The pocket for hand warmers was perfect. The inside-gloves were nimble enough to feel the buttons on my camera and the touch-screen finger tips worked ok. Fingers got cold when outside the mitten but warmed up when back inside. The wrist strap, pull strings and magnets were all well designed.Con’s - the thumb on the inside-glove was way too long and tended to fold over before tucking into the the outer glove. Also, my thumbs were always cold (even while inside the outer glove). There doesn’t seem to be as much insulation in the thumb area. Fingers are kind of loose, so using touch screens were sometimes difficult and many times I simply took off the gloves if I needed an extended touch-screen session.Overall, they were worth the purchase as it was a great compromise between being nimble with the camera and warm for the winter.

Doesn't quite work as well as described

There's actually some truth to what the reviewer who gave this glove 1 star said. Before purchasing this glove, I was totally bought into the idea from all the raves and reviews from different sites and YouTube videos. For the price your paying I would have expected much more from this glove. It certainly isn't worth the price your paying for and has many flaws. To start, the liner inside the mitten is probably the absolute worst feature of this glove. I live in California and at 40 degrees fahrenheit my fingers are frozen. If it can't survive 40 degree weather what makes anyone think you can take this to harsher environments and be fine? It's much more bearable when the liner is inside the mitten although it's no miracle worker. The build quality of the liner feels very cheap and could fall apart at any minute. I understand the design intent to keep the liner as thin as possible to allow for maximum dexterity. But you could have easily done that using merino liner. Let's put it this way, my Target $20 gloves are much more warm than the liner in these gloves and allows me the dexterity to operate a camera. There is a built in ribbon that allows your fingers to easily slide into place. The problem is that the ribbon inside one of the liners kept rubbing against my finger when holding a camera and it became very uncomfortable quickly. The thumb flap is very shotty and doesn't have the elegant fold back design of the finger flap with the zipper. It uses cheap velcro to hold the thumb in place when the finger flap uses a magnetic clip. The velcro doesn't quite hold the thumb back all the way and looks like something that was bought at the dollar store. It's also very difficult to tuck your thumb back inside once it's out. I find myself taking the glove off and using my bare fingers to shove the thumb liner back inside the flap.If your going to buy this glove, your better off looking at their website for the HEAT 3 Layer System. The liner is built into the mitten so you cannot remove it. With the HEAT 3 Layer system, nothing is built in and you progressively layer on (starting with liner, then mitten then outershell if desired). I wouldn't buy any liner from this company and just the mitten if I had to do it again. Buy your own liner and the mitten and you'll be much happier.I'm still quite upset about how much I paid for and how the build quality is. Would not recommend the Heat 3 Smart Gloves to anyone. Stay away and save your money!
