I've washed it a few times and it's holding up well with no shedding. The only con I have is that you might need to size up a size or two. I have a 3 year old and got a hoodie for the 5 year old range. It fits well, except it's bit tight around his head. He enjoys wearing it but it's a pain getting it off and he understanably doesn't like the struggle to get it over his head.
