If measuring with the handle, it would be 13" tall. The 10.5" Nelson is also 5.5" in diameter at the base and closer to 6.5" at the widest point of the cage. Let us know if you have any other questions.-Vermont Lanterns Family **Q: Okay. The power went off and I reached for my $200 lantern and could not figure out how to put in the oil!! The top spun but would not open!** A: The oil tank is removed from the bottom of the lamp. Next unscrew the burner (part that holds and adjusts wick) by turning counter clockwise. Fill the oil tank up to 3/4 full with lamp oil, then put the burner back on. If filling for first time allow 10 min for wick to fully absorb oil beforehand lighting. Light the wick keeping it almost flush to the opening of the burner. Insert tank back inside lantern from the base. (Hold from handle with other hand).
