At first we thought it was our own fault, but it’s happened over and over. Something about the way pressure is applied to the clipping mechanism. We live in the city and she’s a runner and we go hiking extensively. She could get killed from her leash unlatching like this either by getting hit by a car or falling from a steep mountain edge. It’s happened when she’s pulling on it but it’s also happened when she was just slowly walking. It happened 3x on a camping trip and I’m so thankful we had a back-up leash in the car. Fix your latch design before a dog ends up dying as a result of it! I have this leash and matching collar for my 5 month old Australian Shepherd puppy. It’s great quality and attractive. Gorgeous pattern, matches the blue in my dog’s eyes.
