Review: Excellent knife! - Out of the box, no issues at all. The blade flips open VERY quickly, even before I oiled it, and fit and finish are great for the price point. I love the look of the "stonewashed" blacked blade. And the G10 handle grips very well, and fits my large hands just fine. The case is better quality than I expected. Sharpness is great. The blade is thin, especially at the tip, but considering the steel, I don't expect any problems. For the price, can't be beat. Review: Class Act - After looking at a lot of knives, this Baklash struck my fancy, just a great looking knife. Had never heard of Civivi, but had heard of WE knives. I have maybe twice been as pleasantly surprised with a knife that didn't have hundreds of good reviews. This is one sweet knife! It's got a beautiful handle, three planes, with a latitudinal G10 texturing on the center plane that helps with grip and feels great. The blue liners and Civivi logo look fantastic. Overall a modern, subdued beauty. The blade is an interesting drop point that makes me think more of a spear point. Perfectly centered, perfect detent, the flipper is excellent. There is generous gimping on the top of the blade, and subtle gimping on the flipper. The blade has very few markings on it, just a steel type. This surprises me a bit, although I think it looks great. I would say the Baklash is a no-nonsense gentlemen's knife. It's smooth and classy, but can also cut well, and should be easy to maintain. It strikes me as similar to a RAT 1, a very well built, attractive knife with a great G10 handle, but to me, the Baklash is an even better value. The bang for the buck is very high with this knife. Both are manufactured in China. I own a Baklash. It is a very nicely made knife with great flipping action. **Q: Does it have steel liners with holes to lighten it or are they full?** A: The liners are skeletonized **Q: Is this knife Assisted opening?** A: It is not, but I like this better. I have a couple assisted opening knives. While opening a higher end assisted open knife might be a 5 out of 5, closing them is a 3 out of 5 at best and some are outright dangerous to close one-handed. Some lower end assisted-open knives are harder to open than a Civivi on bearings. Opening on a knife with good bearings like a Civivi is a 4 out of 5 (maybe 4.5) and closing them is a 5/5. What I like about this knife? Love the weight and balance holding the knife. I do prefer heavier knives and this one fits the bill. The knife is solidly built and appears flawless in construction. The thing that sold be is how easy it is to open with one finger. There is little resistance opening the knife, yet the blade is absolutely solid. Now my favorite flipper knife. And the blade is extremely sharp out of the box. I can’t find any negatives about this excellent knife and highly recommend it.
