Tenderized Paperback veneer will bend to wrap a 1" radius. Grain and Color appearance variation can be expected from sheet to sheet and lot to lot, it will vary from what is pictured because it is a natural wood product. Solvent-Based adhesive is recommended. Water based adhesives are not recommended. Adhesives should be allowed to cure for 48 hours prior to finishing. Ready for light stain and/or clear finish. Great for refacing, refurbishing, and repairing furniture, shelves, cabinets, ect. All veneer should be acclimated prior to application. Surface must be clean, dry and smooth to ensure a good bond. The veneer has a nice clear grain. That 3M pressure sentive adhesive makes it hang on like a scared monkey. I apply it and then use a rolling pin on it. Yup, a kitchen rolling pin. One thing I did notice was that the grain is very tight and so trying to match stains is tricky. The stain does not penetrate as deep unless you use several coats. Like the difference of sanding to 400 as opposed to 120. That aside, I would not hestitate to use this veneer again. Review: Beautiful veneer with strong adhesive - I covered a dresser top because I wanted a real wood finish and didn’t want to try stripping the glossy paint job someone else had done before me. I sanded the top and edges before VERY carefully laying down the veneer and removing the backing. (Wish I’d had someone help me, but it worked, nonetheless!) (Then I used iron-on veneer for the edges) Sanded the corners and edges and stained and varnished. The adhesive is very strong! The veneer takes stain and varnish very well. I’m thrilled with the outcome.. I’d definitely use it again! They all came with glue stuck to the face of the veneer where the inside roll touched it. It cleans up easily with Acetone, or Adhesive Cleaner. The problem with wrinkling comes from the liquid used to stain or finish the veneer. I was able to work around it because I was cutting small strips. If you are staining the material you should try to find Wood-on-Wood veneer.
