With dimensions of 6 x 6 x 11 inches, it features a newly designed pot support, a collapsible poker, and a camo stuff sack, making it perfect for preparing small meals for 1-2 people while using renewable fuel with minimal smoke emissions. ## Description The Flenda Camp Buddy is an interesting new twist to Wood Gasification Technology, or TLUD's "Top lit updraft Gasifiers" I was a little skeptical of the small burn chamber at first. This makes for a pretty hungry stove, but you can easily snap twigs and sticks to pop into the feed hole in the pot support as you cook. The small chamber also will hold about 4 cups of wood pellets, and in my tests would slowly burn for more than an hour and a half. Perfect for roasting some weenies and marshmallows. But I think you get more heat from using larger pieces of fuel, like sticks and get some better air flow. Another interesting feature of this stove is the horizontal rows of holes down the fire chamber, that seem to keep the gasification burning efficiently no matter what the level of the fuel is inside. There is also a small cone towards the top that helps concentrate the flame. Unlike a lot of other woodgas campstoves, I am familiar with. This one draws all of it fresh air, from the top down, from just below the top rim. Took about 5 minutes to start burning wood gas at high output when I used a postage stamp sized piece of a fiber/wax fire starter laid on top of wood pellets to light the stove.This stove isn't adjustable for primary or secondary air flow, and was rather smoky/sooted pans excessively when burning compared to some of my home made or modified small Chinese TLUD wood burners. It could use more secondary air flow at top of burn chamber and a short unvented section for more draft in my experience- As it is permanently assembled, modifying stove by changing air flow isn't really possible. I did try adding a short section of 4" steel tube set above burn chamber inside pot support, this helped reduce smoke and increased burn rate a good bit.With a 900cc fill of pellets, stove does burn for over 1.5 hours with a high flame output and nearly a half hour more at a low burn with the remaining charcoal.Be aware, except for the pot support this stove is permanently assembled.
