If you haven't seen Phil Hales work before than I highly recommend this cheap almost promotional format collection, but otherwise you've probably seen many of these works before. It feels like better paper and overall higher production values than GOAD, but to date I still don't think a good collection of Hales work has been put together. Look at Odd Nerdrum or Jenny Saville's collections and that's the treatment Hales work deserves in my opinion. I would love to see a big large format book with close ups of the paint work and learn more about the artist. There are also some pieces I'm not quite sure were photographed very well.If you are new to Hale then you'll love this book if you're already a fan this won't have much to offer.
