    Doesn't work in parts of the U.S.

These units are rated only for 3500 or 4500 feet altitude.  The oxygen sensor turns off the pilot and the unit shuts down.  That means it's useless if you are in much of the American Southwest, especially northern Arizona, Utah, Wyoming etc.The very time you want to have heat you can't get it.

I would never know this heater was made in China. The build quality is standard appliance grade--like a washing machine or dryer. I have been using it for a year now and it still works fine. No thermostadt--it's just on or off. Efficient. Good for a bathroom, bedroom, etc.
