Join Art In History to learn about the Texas Revolution, while exploring the archeology of the old Spanish territory in an area that is now San Antonio, Texas. During an archeology dig in 1974, the Chocolate Pot was uncovered near the north entrenchment wall on the grounds of the Alamo. Most likely the chocolate pot was made in Northern Mexico, and was brought there by the Spanish.The Spanish were introduced to Chocolate by the Aztecs. At first chocolate was bitter, but over time the Spanish added sugar cane, vanilla, and cinnamon. Drinking hot chocolate became a status symbol in Spain.Proudly Made In America.
