Lenght I would say its very long. Regardless if I push it deep into my hair or not, it always get tangled and get stucked in my hair making it so difficult for me to take it off my head. One instance I have to cut some of my hair so I can take it off. I put it on the pillow to take a good picture, when i grabbed it, it pulled some of the pillows fabric. It has a gentle curve to the stick which I find helps to keep it in. It's not very pointed on the end but that works fine for me....if you like a pointer, sharper stick this one might not be for you. The pink flower bead is really beautiful....the bead is held on by a smaller pink and red bead on the back of the stick.
