## Description

Proper surface prep before applying any ceramic coating, sealant or wax is paramount to ensure optimal adhesion and a lasting bond. Old waxes, stubborn oils, grease, fillers and even that pesky polishing residue are no match for Mothers CMX Surface Prep. Biodegradable grease-cutting surfactants and solvents dig deep, dissolving oils and lifting away surface-clinging contaminants. This safe but effective, pH neutral cleaner is so versatile it can be used on virtually every exterior surface of your vehicle, including paint, glass, trim, wheels, tires and more. It can also be safely used in body shop environments thanks to its silicone-free formula. Simply spray on and wipe off, CMX Surface Prep will do the rest, quickly flashing off, leaving a perfectly clean, residue-free and anti-static/dust-resistant surface, ready for coating.

Review: Works as Prep for Ceramic Coat - I use this with a clay bar as a prep for self application (in order words, my amateur application) of Adams Graphene Ceramic and it worked well. This Mothers Surface Prep was used on a vehicle which I typically keep well waxed and always has "speed shine" applied. My process involved spraying on the Mother's Surface Prep, "squeegeeing" it off with a clay bar. Then I misted it again with the Mother's and wiped it clean with a microfiber. It really did a good job of removing all wax, silicone and debris. It provided a clean surface to apply the Graphene Ceramic coating. One bottle was more than adequate to prep my Colorado pickup and I have plenty left over. Mothers is good stuff and although I chose the Adams for my ceramic coat, I'm sure a Mothers product would be similar in shine and ease of application.

**Q: Can this be used on car with ceramic coating already?**
A: You can use it but it will remove your ceramic coating

**Q: is it designed for fiberglass boats?**
A: Yes, our customers are finding it works great on any smooth glossy finish in good condition. Use a polish (like our CMX Polish or California Gold Pure Polish) first if you have oxidation.

**Q: After that process you use the other mother’s ceramic spray correct?**
A: Correct or any other type of sealant/ceramic coating.  This is ideally used after paint correction to remove oils, polish, etc.

**Q: Can I use this with a clay bar as well?**
A: Do not use this with a clay bar, this is to be used as a surface prep. ONLY it is to remove polishes in waxes in preparation for a ceramic coating or paint sealant. Any other use is impractical!!  The amount of people in here who can’t read instructions is baffling.

Good. Much better and easier to use than wax. Puts a protective glassy ceramic (silicon oxide) finished on the car. Makes a clean car's finish look new. I've even used it on my cell phone face and other things I want to shine like my wrist watch. (Silicon oxide is the same product sold as 'liquid glass' for cell phones. This works in the same way. You get a lot more for about the same price as a small swatch of 'liquid glass'.) I prefer another product that has more silicon oxide; NexGen ceramic spray that contains a greater amount of silicon oxide and lasts a little longer, but Mother's is a well known brand and a good product.
