They are stiff as iron and require a fair amount of finger pad pressure to get a clear note. Even then the sound is muddy and not acceptable. I finally ripped mine off and threw them in the trash where they belong. Will never use again. End of story. **Q: Are these nylon? Maybe I'm missing it but I can't seem to find what these strings are.** A: Hi, they are not nylon but a colored wrap steel string. **Q: Do they came in flatwound and short scale bass strings** A: Short scale yes you just trim them after putting them on. I dont think they make colored flatwound strings but I could be wrong. **Q: i got a 30" scale bass to play "rocksmith". do these fit a 30 scale bass** A: I have these on a 45" bass. Should work. Be advised that these are heavy strings and are not very vibrant in sound quality. The colored coating seems to make them dull.
