I was a bit dubious about whether it would suit my purposes, mainly seeing it as a way to start my Weber charcoal grill, but I found myself pleasantly surprised at just how easily it ignited a small scrap of paper to get the grill going, in fact a bit easier than using a conventional lighter, which really surprised me. It ignites paper instantly, so I'm nowhere near depleting the battery, but I'll speculate that I could probably start the grill at least a hundred times before needing to recharge the batter, which fully charges in under an hour using the included (and universal) micro-USB cable. As for the construction of the lighter itself, it's really rugged, with an overmolded rubberized bright orange outer surface (much easier to see that way) and even a mechanical latch mechanism to ensure that it stays closed. For small things it would be good however I got it out when I need my cigar lit and it had trouble lighting.
