The Meater signal can't even connect to it's base though the door of the oven or the lid on my grill, making it pretty much unusable for grilling or oven roasting. Also, it's a pain to connect to my phone via bluetooth, and the range is pathetic. This Thermopro is easy to use, and surprisingly feature rich. My favorite feature of the app lets you set a range for ambient temperatures. This feature can also alert you when the temperatures go above or below the target temp. This feature helped me cook my first brisket to perfection overnight. I was able to sleep, and didn't have to worry if the fire went out or if my grill was too hot! The wired probes prevent any issues with connectivity, and the bluetooth range on the base reaches my phone from anywhere in the house. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to buy a digital thermometer!
