**Q: Will this work well to stretch chain link fence?**
A: Probably not,  this has jaws that are designed to fit barbed wire.  Chain link needs to held the entire height of the fencing to stretch evenly.  Maybe somebody else has done it?

**Q: Will this work on vinyl coated tension wire (for chain link fence)?**
A: Thanks for your question!  This 400 fence stretcher can be used in this application, though the tool may dig/cut into the vinyl coating on the spots where you attach it to the wire, defeating the purpose of the vinyl coating in those areas.

**Q: Would this work on livestock wire fence? Meaning the ones with lots of squares/rectangles... Think very heavy duty chicken wire?**
A: yes.   i use it on woven wire fences all the time, but one strand at a time.   I made a jig to stretch all ten wires at once, but for tensioning, this works better, but a lot slower.

**Q: Will this work on 12.5 gauge smooth wire?**
A: Sorry, I have only used it on barbed-wire
