So now moving on to my self-incurred glitch, I had contacted the company due to a need to purchase a couple of small replacement parts because of my failure to read the instruction manual before using and experienced a user error of my own doing. So, PLEASE, do yourself a huge favor and read through the instruction manual that comes with your Moka Pot! I had mixed raw cacao powder in with the coffee in the filter and tamped it all down pretty hard (coffee is not supposed to be tamped at all in this pot)...both of which are both BIG no-no's, as very clearly indicated in their handy little 'How to Use' manual...and also left my filter plate a bit mangled. I sent an e-mail to the company and heard back from the Founder and Owner of the company, who insisted on sending me a brand new replacement pot even though I clearly explained that what I experienced was due to my own negligence and error and not at all to do with anything inferior or faulty with the moka pot! I was just trying to purchase a couple of replacement parts, due to my idiotic mistake, or at least find out who he recommended I purchase compatible replacement parts from. He noticed from the photo I attached that I had the older model with the plastic hinge housing and because they don't currently sell replacement parts, he went above and beyond and sent me a whole new upgraded model! The new model is just as fantastic as its original counterpart!! As you can see in my photo that I snapped just today, with the older (almost 2 1/2 year old) pot on the left and the brand new one on the right, it looks like they're both brand new and maybe unused. However, that is not the case. The one on the left is just a very well-loved and well-taken care of moka pot! From the time my husband showed it to me on desertcart at the time of the order to the time it arrived in it's very special magnetic gift box, I knew that the aptly named Luxhaus Moka Pot was special and should be cared for accordingly! And the new one, is no different! They are both obviously gorgeous and and super solid, heavy little pots of a very high grade of highly polished stainless steel. And they both make such delicious, rich cups of coffee that make both every day coffee time and special times with loved ones extra memorable! So, as you can see, this moka pot is the real deal and truly has it ALL: Beauty AND Brawn!! But, also, keep in mind, that a product is only as good as the company behind it. And I believe my review speaks well to the fact that you will be hard pressed to find a company that stands behind it's products as this company has...and who cares more about their customers and their satisfaction as Luxhaus does! Review: Works Well, Easy to Use, Makes a Good Cup of Coffee - I was looking for something to make espresso, but I didn't want the complexity, cost or footprint of an espresso machine. A moka pot seemed to be a good compromise. While it isn't espresso, it's still a very strong shot of coffee with good extraction, and is a very good base for frothed milk drinks. I chose the LuxHaus primarily because it is stainless steel, an "desertcart Choice", and is sold at what I consider to be a reasonable price point. I've had the LuxHaus moka pot for about a week, and so far I'm impressed. The results with dark roast coffee, or with New Orleans style chicory coffee have been excellent. I wasn't as impressed with the results from a lighter roast coffee. Using the LuxHaus moka pot is relatively easy, fill the lower chamber with water, add coffee to the basket, insert the basket into the lover chamber, screw on the upper chamber onto the lower chamber and place on a stove eye at medium heat. On my stove (gas) it takes six to eight minutes to make a pot. One tutorial I watched suggests starting with hot water for better coffee. I've done so, but can't really tell the difference in the coffee. Cleaning the pot is relatively easy, but a bit messy. The biggest issue is getting the grounds out of the basket, it isn't hard, but I end up using a paper towel to get all the grounds out, and to wipe clean the filter plates. I'd recommend a moka pot for those who want coffee house style drinks, but don't want full up espresso machines. I can also recommend the LuxHaus pot. It works as advertised, the LuxHaus pot itself seems very well made, and the coffee has been very good. The LuxHaus pot comes in a nice presentation box. I had an aluminum moka pot in the past and enjoyed the bold espresso-like brew the pot made, but was searching for a stainless steel model when I came across the LuxHaus. The 3-cup version brews enough coffee for a small American-sized coffee mug. I have zero complaints about my initial LuxHaus Moka pot-I used it on a small flame of my gas stove on a semi-regular basis. It travels well and brews great coffee at suitable Airbnbs or on camp stoves! I always hand-washed my Moka pot; however, a little over a year after purchase the plastic hinge on my 3-cup version broke. The pot was still usable, but the lid was loose and came off during washing. I vaguely remembered some kind of warranty when purchasing my pot, so I contacted LuxHaus customer service. I quickly received a message back from the owner of LuxHaus confirming that my pot did fall under warranty. The 3-cup pot was out of stock, so I was given the option of either a 6 or 9-cup version. Shortly afterwards, I received my new 6-cup Moka pot, which features an upgraded metal hinge. I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue to use the high-quality LuxHaus Moka Pot without having to spend another $30+ for a new one.
