My son will be 5 in a few days. He just updated his sneaker size to Nike 12C (12 children). The XXS Finis fins are too small, but just barely. He'd be much better suited for the XS size. He has high arches and ridiculously wide feet. **Q: Why do these come covered in slimy stuff?** A: That will come off once you use it the first time or you can wash them off with some liquid detergent. It is a coating the fins come with to keep them from drying out and to keep their bright colors to look good for retail sales. It will not interfere with its wear.
