The Lunicycle helps protect your legs where an Ultimate Wheel does not. After about two days of not that much practice, just mounting really, I'm able to ride it up and down the driveway. Long story short (too late I know) this is a great product, but I feel it would be difficult to learn without unicycling experience. Still , it's great fun and if you're looking for a challenge (not to mention a workout!) this is well worth the money. Go for it. It took my son and I each about 10 minutes to learn to ride a lunicycle, albeit for only a short duration. We learned to get going by balancing against the side of a car and then pushing off. It's not the balance that kicks you ... it's the leg stamina that gives out -- there's no seat to rest on!
