It adds a lot to the base game without being overwhelming. A quick read through the directions and you are ready to go. It's not overly complex. There's a good mix of new characters with some interesting abilities. What I really liked was that the new board for the inner region has two sides. One side has the original inner region challenges but altered slightly to fit the Dragon theme and the other side offers a new progression to the final battle for the Crown of Command with new and unique challenges. The alternate ending cards also add greatly to the replayability of this expansion. I can't wait to play again! So many great dragons to battle! Review: Best Talisman Expansion! - The Woodland Expansion isn't very good but the Highland Expansion is far and above the best expansion we've played so far! Last time we played I wanted to keep reentering the Highland Expansion like 3 or 4 times to keep getting good items and increasing my Craft by fighting Craft enemies.
