## Overview

The Gypsy Quilter Jelly Roll Tube Maker is a precision-crafted tool designed to streamline the creation of fabric and batting tubes for quilting. Made from durable metal and plastic, it ensures consistent 2.5-inch wide tubes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency. Compact and easy to use alongside your sewing machine, this purple tube maker is endorsed by the original Jelly Roll Rug creator, making it a must-have for serious quilters seeking professional results.

## Description

To make the Fabric & Batting Tube, place a thin batting strip on the wrong side of a 2.5in fabric strip. Feed the layered (fabric & thin batting) strip, batting side up, into the wide end of the Jelly Roll (tm) Tube Maker. If needed, place a sewing awl in the slot on the tool to pull the layered strip through. Then fold the now magically folded, layered strip in half as it comes out the other end & place under the sewing machine presser foot ready to stitch. Keep the Jelly Roll Tube Maker close to the sewing machine & slide along as you sew. This product works best with 2-1/2in precut batting strips. The metal Jelly Roll Tube Maker may be used with or without an iron (with caution) for other similar technique projects. Endorsement: "As the creator of the original Jelly Roll Rug & subsequent patterns, I have dreamt of the production of this amazing, helpful notion. The strong, sturdy & durable Jelly Roll(tm)Tube Maker will ease the sometimes tedious & painful folding process of creating the fabric & batting tubes. The Jelly Roll (tm) Tube Maker will save time, produce consistent width tubes & help to provide amazing results." Roma Lambson, R.J. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used without batting and just the jelly roll strips?**
A: I’m sure it could but I’ve only used it with batting snd the strips. Works great

**Q: How many mm wide is this bias maker?**
A: It is the correct width for a normal 2.5 inch jelly roll strip. It makes a strip that’s one inch wide prior to folding.
It is also the ONLY bias maker that is wide enough for the standard Jelly roll strip. (It’s also very easy to use, it takes hours off making the folded strips :)

**Q: Can this handle a heavier material like denim plus batting?**
A: I have used it with heavy cotton and batting. I would think that denim wouldn't be a problem. It is a sturdy little gadget.

**Q: What is the width of the tape as it comes out folded? Can this be used to make 1.25" bias tape as the fabric going in is 2.5"?**
A: I haven't tried to make bias tape with this, but probably it would depend on the thickness of the material. This has a thick collar so you can feed 2.5" jelly roll material wrapped around 2.5 " strip batting, so it's pretty thick. The concept is the same as the bias tape makers.
