Velociraptor means ''swift seizer'' and existed approximately 75 to 71 million years ago. Velociraptor had feathers and walked upright on two legs, and had an enlarged sickle-shaped claw on each hind foot. The Velociraptor has become one of the best known dinosaurs, due to its prominent role in the Jurassic Park motion picture series. In the films, the 'raptor was shown with anatomical inaccuracies, including being much larger than it was in reality. With over a dozen described fossil skeletons, the Velociraptor is well-known to paleontologists, who have even found one specimen of a Velociraptor locked in combat with a Protoceratops.
