It'll create a nice subtle glow if you just lightly sweep it in the areas of your face where light naturally hits you. Use a bit too much and you might look ridiculous but to each their own. I don't find the need to re-apply throughout the day since I also use a setting spray. I do notice that if I happen to rub my face with some pressure my hands and fingers will be sparkly but I don't do it too often. I guess you could apply it after that.
