I always have to use a utility blade. Works great for masking paper. **Q: Are their screws to hold the blade on, or does it just lock into the hand masker? If there are screws which order do they come with?** A: No screws, it locks onto the hand masker **Q: Paper weighs more than plastic. Is the tool sturdy enough to hold a roll of 12" masking paper?** A: Yes, this tool is one of my daily essentials. I work for a restoration company that specializes in remodeling storage facilities and we use 12" rolls of paper by the box. Because of this I've decided to keep the contraption. I've given it just 4 stars because the instructions say to remove the blade a certain way (which doesn't work). If you push the blade off from the bottom (instead of the top - which is what the instructions say), it comes off quite easily. Cuts great but you (at keast I) cant get the blasted thing off the masker. Come on 3M - think again. I am going to send the blade back WITH rhe nasker because I guess it is now permanent and I cant adjust the size or use the film blade. So.
