However the unit is one of the best and most dependable irrigation controllers on the market today. I installed my Rain Dial on a 3 valve irrigation system in 2002 and never had a problem with the unit. My advice is to buy the RD600 6 station irrigation system. **Q: Are these units smrt logic® compatible?** A: Not unless you are a hacker willing to add some component that enables such capability. This is pretty much an electro-mechanical controller, set and forget for a basic job of turning on a set of water valves for lawn watering. **Q: What adapter are they referencing in the customer review from Sept. 7, 2012? Do we need to purchase that also for a replacement installation? The mounting screws went into the same locations in the wall. The wire connections for the power and the valve control also went into the same places. The controller is up and running, and will hopefully not need to be replaced for several years at least.
