Review: Perfect Fit for Old Model 840 - As you can see, the new Swivel has a slightly shorter nipple. This means that unless you happen to have a very thin 3/4" open end wrench you'll have to pull the bushing cap for the water pipe/axle, in order to get a normal width wrench on the nipple to tighten the swivel into place. Once done though there's plenty of clearance to attach the leader hose. I strongly recommend applying some silicone lube to both inside and outside of the swivel at the nipple and spinning it several times before mounting. I've had this hose cart for over a decade. I bought it solely because of the way it looks, I like the aesthetic. After all this time I've only replaced one tire that I let go flat and didn't touch for years, and then it wouldn't hold air. Aside from the obvious owner neglect issue, this swivel is the only other thing to go bad. Truth be told, I never lubed the swivel, so the fact it lasted this long is testimony to the quality of the build. I also purchased a swivel repair O ring kit, which I'll rebuild the old one to keep for a spare. Bith had developed leaks due to rubber gaskets drying out in Colorado sun. These brass swivels are a perfect fit and upgrade to original alluminum parts. I do wish the Liberty sold replacement gaskets for the aluminum swivels, but at least they are available for the brass ones. Shipping was faster than expected and install took less than 5 minutes.
