I would recommend anyone using this for a reptile, use with caution, and a thermostat. My ball python's enclosure seems to retain the heat from the CHE, so that's good. The neck is very sturdy. It can clip on to the edge of the tank and doesn't fall off ever. But it is a little hard to move the silver part but its still not hard, just a little bit. You have to also buy the right light bulbs for this they are E27 Light bulbs. They are terrible. I used it for a desert gecko terrarium with a 75w heat bulb. They both broke within six months; as in, the inside prongs that connect to the bulb just disconnect. Terrible quality. I thought the first time it was just a fluke, but the exact same thing happened twice.
