Don't bump them or sit them down hard. I've had 3 where the bottom falls out when water is put into them. I sterilize the bottles before I put the kombucha it and 3 have exploded and boiling water all over the counter. I've learned to do it slowly and a little at a time; but I've been doing this for years and never had any trouble. Just be warned to take good care and they will last a long time. They are $4 each, so hard when you lose 3 of them.The only way to clean them is getting a long-handled brush that goes through the opening, use hot soapy water and rinse them as soon as you pour out the liquid in them.
