We have a full time chef at work for the warehouse and the office and he buys snacks for before and after lunch. We also have an espresso machine, drinks etc. so we get great choices to eat healthy food for meals and snacks. Since first trying Luv's, I have had grown to really really really Luv 'em, and I will tell you why: At first, I felt like the reviewer who said they tasted like a food that was good for you. They are dense and very dark chocolate flavor based. Since they are not as sugar sweet as even 70% Cacoa Dark Chocolate and they are quite rich and dense, they don't strike the palate at first as a sweet treat, so the comparison to a chocolate bar on first reflection seems to fall short. After I had a Luv's more than one time, I learned to both love the rich dark chocolate flavor and texture as well as prefer it to a dose of dark chocolate. Why? because eating a Luv's will give you an incredible, delicious boost of energy and feeling of well being. That sounds like quite a claim, I know so let me break it down to how simple it really is: when you crave some caffeine or sugar, and have a Luv's instead, you get the best of both, and the effect is long long long lasting. Today, I found the last one left in the three cartons the chef ordered (hence here I am ordering more for our company.) I was feeling tired after doing some exercise in the morning and having a busy day of office work, phone calls, etc. At two pm, I needed a pick me up. I thought maybe coffee, but I had started my day with that, and so I hunted down the last Luv's because my body remember how much it helps me to recover and rejuvenate. Within a few minutes of the first bite ( I actually prefer to eat them whole like a piece of sushi, others eat them bite by bite to savor the flavors, I notice) I was alert, perky, refreshed. I mentioned this to our chef and he asked me if it was the "same effect as a piece of chocolate?" I knew from experience it was not--It's not because there is no sugar crash, just an immediate and then sustained energy peak. In fact, sometimes the fans of Luv's in the office warn newbies not to try it too late in the day, because it can give you so much energy it might keep them awake at night. For me, Luv's is truly a superfood, and the companies website explains the founder's story in using all the ingredients to help restore her health and vitality. As for me, I am a believer. I am ordering a box of each flavor as we have tried three so far and as you can tell, the are all gone! Thanks Luv's for the new staple snack at work. I hope they can be found in more places in the future because they deserve to be found everywhere. *This is flavor is the one we have not yet ordered at work and will try for the first time. We love all the others and so I will come back and update this review if necessary for this flavor.
