I promise you, my brother's book's are thick & heavy. You can see in the last picture I snapped a top view of the books that the bookends are holding so you can see that it's holding up really really well. Better than I expected! They're well made; sturdy and with the protective "dots" on the bottom to prevent scratching surfaces. They hold large and heavy books very well, but are lightweight enough to move around easily. Excellent value considering I received two pairs of these bookends plus the handy pencil case for a very reasonable price. Shipping was excellent, too--prompt and very well packaged. We used these for each of our twins’ nighttime book collection (roughly 15 kids books) & the thickness of the product is actually quite thin, which constantly has them sliding apart, frequently spilling the books.
