Firmolux is 100% Italian made so of course quality is top priority. Two years ago I used this on my range hood over drywall after painting my drywall with “micro primer” and still looks great! Kilz works as a primer too but the key is to use a 100% steel trowel, sand with 800 grade wet or dry sandpaper, not the black color sand paper, and seal with mineral sealer, then wax. When adding layers, you won’t apply it the exact same way as you did the first time which will create peaks and valleys. Searched online with multiple options like lime wash, Venetian plaster, etc. I don’t know why it’s not popular in the US… but I’m lucky to find this product on Amazon, learned the technique from YouTube and did it myself. I did also buy a quartz primer before applying this plaster. And applied two coats, the last coat before it’s dry, you need to use trowel to Bernish to give it shiny look. I don’t quite like shiny so I coated another two coats of mineral sealer to give it matte and smooth texture.
