After a week of use, I know I made the right choice. My beard has never felt better!FRAGRANCEThe first thing I noticed was the fragrance. Admittedly, I was a little worried it was going to be too strong. After all, it's a product that sits right under my nose, AND I am not one that wears anything with fragrances (no colognes, nothin'.) The first day took me a little while to get used to the fragrance, but after a few hours I noticed it really tamed down. After a few days of use it is really quite pleasant. Again, I am not one to wear anything with a scent, so you may someone that doesn't even think twice about it.INSTRUCTIONSInstructions state to use a dime sized amount and work it into the beard. I think this is for a full face beard, not goatees or smaller/shorter styles. I found I could get away with half that amount with great results. If you are sporting a hull-blown San Francisco hipster beard that comes down to your shirt, you may need double that, or more.Instructions also state that it may/will melt at about 95 degrees (F), 35 (C), so if you live or travel to some hot places, or keep it in a hot space, you may notice it turns to a soft goo or liquid. Maybe you would want to keep it in the fridge or cooler location to make the application of it easier. Shouldn't change or hurt the product to be liquid.STATE OF THE BEARDDude! My beard has never felt better. I have never been able to grow it out very long because it is really thick and course, which makes it itchy at certain lengths. This balm makes my beard really soft, and removes any itchiness I once had. This keeps his beard soft and manageable. ### ⭐⭐ Good control, but lose the tie! *by L***B on 22 December 2015* The product works well to add some control to a beard, but I've stopped using it. The reason is very simply that if one wears a tie and/or a collared shirt, the balm will stain the collar and the tie. I never realized how many times during the course of a day one looks down--putting the beard in touch with the knot of a tie. In addition, if your beard extends down onto the neck, as you turn your head, the beard brushes against your collar--leaving a very noticeable dark spot. You can remove the stain on the collar with some pre-treatment products, but the tie has to go to the cleaners.
