Driver: Very solidly mounted onto the board - I will use its bracket it as my main mounting point. The driver connects to the light via a plug, so if you want to remove the driver and install an extension, this should be be useful. Power Draw: 122.8 watts as measured by my meter over 1 hour period. LEDs: 224 leds in the warmer range, as the advertised 3500K. Heatsink: Very solid nice looking material. The two end caps are screwed on but other than that, it’s a one piece aluminum Heatsink. The Heatsink front and back also act as a shroud to direct the light downwards. This is a major plus for me because, I will be keeping this light in my living room and the shroud blocks eye contact with the LED’s As you can see from the pictures. The Spider Farmer SF-1000 and the Growatt panels are both on, yet you can’t see the LED’s on the Growatt. Note: the Growatt is at a lower hight than the Spider Farmer, but I think the picture is useful to illustrated the effectiveness of the shroud. At a price of ~60 USD this light is a crazy good deal. And I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes up to the 90-95 dollar range once it gets some more reviews. Cons- The screws used to mount the driver to the mounting bracket/ board are the pointy type, not rounded off. Although, they are for the most part out of the way, I would have preferred the be rounded off of cut flushed. Heat: the panel does run warm. After an hour the driver was hot to the touch. My Etekcity IR thermometer readout shows 130* F plus or minus 10* depending on the location of the driver. The Heatsink also shows very similar temperatures. My mounting location already had a fan on it, and with the fan running, the temperatures fell to 105~ degrees F on the Heatsink and 110~ on the driver. I’ll start planting all my summer seeds under this light in the next day or two, so hopefully I should be able to follow-up on this review by the end of May 2020 to write about the results.
