Better than wood
Ordered these after I discovered my wooden oars were not useable ( they were 35yrs old and kept outside yr roundvery sturdy and light weight they also break down so I don't have to store them on the floor . work great for a backup to my outboard.

Stronger than I thought they’d be.
Shipping was surprisingly quick considering they arrived via FeDEx (lucky if it gets there at all!), and packaging was acceptable.I was concerned about the strength of the oar lock after reading some reviews about them being plastic and breaking, and I guess the manufacturer took notice because these have a steel pin through them for added strength. While they did fit into the holder, they were a little loose for my liking, but it was an easy fix with a $3 steel sleeve to take up the slack (see pics). I also added a pin to stop them from coming out, and also a “safety line” to be sure (see pics). Before I even put my boat in the water, I put the oars together, put them in the boat, and easily adjusted the plastic oar stop by placing the oar on the ground and pushing the sleeve up/down until both oars were adjusted so they wouldn’t touch In the middle while rowing.I just bought this boat ($200!) which is 12’ feet long, and took it out on its maiden voyage to see how these oars would go, and to also check for leaks on my $200 bargain boat. Both the oars and the boat passed the test with flying colours, and while I didn’t go all out, I also didn’t go easy on these oars and they didn’t come even close to feeling “flimsy”.I noticed some questions about which way the oar locks should go into the holders, and I put mine in so that the pin was closest to the front of the boat (see pics) thus taking the majority of the pressure from the oar while rowing, that made sense to me physics wise, and seemed to work fine, but I could be wrong.Overall I’m happy with these for the price, and unless you’re planning on going out into some surf or rapids I think these are perfect for everyday use.

Great light duty oar
I like how these oars break down and stow away nicely when motoring around on open water. They are stated as "heavy duty", but I would rate them as "light duty". I have a 15' jon boat, and often need oars for mucking around Mississippi sloughs and backwaters. But I would NOT trust them with heavy pulling in the main current. I can feel them "giving" a little on the harder pulls. The oarlock sleeves are friction fit and can be moved (with effort) to fit the boat width. I used a big adjustable wrench and a rubber mallet. They also came with plastic oar locks. These immediately failed. There is a metal structural rod in them. One fell out somewhere in the river, and the plastic pin busted right off in the first 5 minutes of use. I jury-rigged it with a spare carriage bolt, but the other one torqued out so bad we ended up using the oars like canoe paddles.Once I got new, all-metal oarlocks, the oars worked perfect for the backwater mucking about I had wanted them for.

Great for the money
These oars are great for the price. I used them to row my duck boat around the big All season and they held up great. The only thing I don't like is the cheap oar locks. Just buy a set of metal ones right away and throw them on it works so much nicer. They are nice and light but are strong enough to push a 16 foot boat through thick bog

PERFECT FIT
WHEN YOU GET THE RIGHT SIZE TO FIT THE BOAT IT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING.

Almost perfect
These are well made, and perfect for my Jon Boat…my only issue, the set doesn’t come with the pin that locks them in place…you have to row very carefully or they slip out of the holder..we had to make our on for now, until we can buy the small pin that slips through the small hole to keep the, from slipping…I should have read the reviews many mentions this issue…please include the pins! Thanks.
