## Description

Reliable Backup for Battery Failures: The Magpul MBUS Front Back-Up Sight Gen 2 is a low-profile, adaptable sight designed for AR15/M16 platforms. It automatically deploys with minimal pressure and offers adjustable elevation for 1/3 co-witness with red dot sights. Crafted from impact-resistant polymer, it withstands harsh conditions and is compatible with most Picatinny-railed handguards, providing the same height-over-bore as standard A2 irons. It's a dependable backup sight for tactical or emergency situations.

Review: Great Sight for the money! - These sights are wonderful, some people say Troy are better and I do not disagree that troy are quality back up sights. But magpul are cost effective and in a drop test they seemed more durable than Diamondhead/Troy. Not only did they retain zero better than the others, but they seemed to handle impact better than metal. Taken from an article on KitUp "In order to test whether certain popular BUIS would still be serviceable after taking a hard hit, I attached three different types of BUIS - Troy Industries, Magpul Industries and Diamondhead USA - to an AR-15 rifle chambered in .300 AAC Blackout weighing 7 pounds and dropped the rifle upside down from a height of 5 feet onto a concrete surface. Other portions of the rifle were protected from damage, and each set of BUIS took a solid hit from the drop. The ammunition used was Remington Premier Match .300 AAC Blackout 125 gr OTM. Each sighting device was installed according to the manufacturer's instructions, then points of impact was established from a stable shooting position at 25 and 200 yards. After the drop, the rifle was fired again, and any change in point of impact noted. The first BUIS dropped was the Diamondhead. At first, damage appeared cosmetic only; however, the apertures could no longer be rotated, windage could not be adjusted, and there was a definite cant to the BUIS. Point of impact shifted approximately 16 MOA. We contacted Diamondhead with this result. They replied that a newer version was available which was more durable. We offered to test the new model but production issues meant they could not ship one to us. Next came the Troy sight. Cosmetic damage was apparent, but the sight could still be operated normally. Point of impact shift was approximately 3 MOA. The last set of BUIS was the Magpul MBUS. Damage was purely cosmetic and the sight remained fully functional. Point of impact shift was less than 1 MOA. Unlike the other sighting devices, a second drop was performed. Results did not change, and the sight remained functional." Now my personal experience with these is on my M&P15-22 but I'm ordering an additional MBUS for the AR I am building. They are really good quality, just make sure you don't get a PTS sight from a bad retailer.
Review: Expected quality. - Quality I expected. Spring assist opening. Three points of contact to deploy sight is convenient. One on each side then one on top.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expected quality.

Quality I expected. Spring assist opening. Three points of contact to deploy sight is convenient. One on each side then one on top.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wouldn't hesitate to buy another

I love this sight to death. It's so tight to put on the rail I had to apply lube to the rail itself, tight tolerances are a good sign of quality manufacture. Feels solid, not flimsy or wobbly. Spring retention ensures that after each shot it returns to zero. Also, the square top of the sighting ring makes obtaining accurate aim faster. I have an A3 type rifle, and the standard A2 front sight with it's dog ears protecting the front sight blade: point directly to the squared edges of this rear sight's peep ring. Which actually makes acquiring the target seem easier and faster than if it were a perfect circle rear sight ring. Maybe it's psycho somatic where it's purely me, but it quite honestly seems faster on target than metallic orb rear peeps. the square top of the sight ring, purely objectively to me at least, seems to aid in my finding the center with the front sight blade because the dog ears protecting the blade have an extra frame of reference by branching off towards the square radii left and right of the rear peep. Could be my imagination: but I love this thing. It's solid, tight, retains zero, folds -REALLY- low (which is great) and what I like most: super light weight. I don't like quad rails and hanging off 5 pounds of junk on my rifles. I don't put anything on one of my rifles unless the added capability the accessory brings justifies the weight it brings. I like an Ar-15 carbine to be light and fast, transition target to target quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to put one of these on any pic rail that needs a backup rear. Be it a full fledged A3/A4 combat rifle or a $5k race gun that has to have a rear sight to qualify for a division or specific course of fire. Fits tight, holds zero and weighs next to nothing: you can't go wrong with one of these. I have -NOT- had hands on experience with the mbus II FRONT sight, only the rear: so I cannot offer an informed opinion about the mbus front sight. I can say with relative confidence, I have a high opinion of magpul products in general and if the front sight is of equal quality to their rear sight - I wouldn't hesitate to use that either. I cannot however, give first hand account of what the front sight is like. I can say that -MY- mbus II rear sight is terrific, and that it's my go to choice for any pici-rail gun platform that's in need of a backup rear.
