Make sure to clean area below tailgate so led tape sticks tight. Also, line up the led where you want it and "test fit" where you want the wires to connect to your trailer plug..i removed my license plate, then ran wires thru opening in bunper. I then stuck led starting at one end, peeling a few inches of tape as i moved along..worked great (no screws needed or used)..i did not hook up the reverse light wire..may do in future...looks great tho! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plug-n-Play! *by P***L on Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2015* I've always wanted to install this LED strip on the back of my truck for safety reasons (especially in bad weather) so when I saw this on Amazon I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out for a measly $24-bucks? When it arrived, I was surprised to see how well made it was (and it needs to be I suppose, if it's labeled as, "waterproof"). It installed very quickly (took longer to clean the application area than it took to install it). A word of CAUTION: The adhesive strip is of the industrial type so don't be lazy like me and just "eyeball" the installation reference line. Take your time and draw the straightest line you can because once you apply it....it ain't coming off! As a result of my laziness, the right side is a bit wavy/crooked. Also be advised that it connects to your existing trailer light adapter so anytime you tow your boat, you would have to unplug this to use your trailer lights. But your boat is gonna block most of the light anyway, so it really is not an issue for me. This also means that you won't be splicing to your existing trailer lights wiring which makes this product truly, "Plug-n-Play! Man, this thing is really bright (especially at night) and unlike other products, has the full range of turn signals, brake, running lights and flasher. Trust me, you will have improved you rear-end visibility by 200% after you have installed this LED. It amazes me how something so well made, can be sold at such a reasonable cost (nowadays anyway) and once again, free shipping to the 50th State makes Amazon a winner once more! Great Product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Install on 2010 Silverado *by A***0 on Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2016* Let me start by saying this product is great - looks great and is super bright at night. Everything functions as it says, there is no need to buy a more expensive product.The reason for 4 stars - it says it is universal, in reality it is not, many trucks, including my 2010 Chevy Silverado do not have the 4 prong plug, we have the 7 prong plug. DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO HARDWIRE OR BUY AN ADAPTER. Make sure your car has the four prong plug before buying. I was no electrician and I ended up spending $20 at Home Depot on butt splicers (make sure you buy the biggest size because he ground wire is thick). I ended upHardwiring into my trailer 7 prong plug. Took me a lot of time to do research on what wires to cut and connect to this product. I've attached pictures to help with the hardwiring process. The colors of the wires on this product do not match the picture but the placement and purpose of them are the exact same. Cut off the 4 prong plug and hardwire into your 7 prong wire harness. See pictures to find which wires to splice together. If you follow the pictures it works great and should save you a ton of headache and speculation. Still takes about 2 hours to do. Also connect the reverse light wire on the product to your reverse light in your taillight, there are three wires that go to the bulb in the reverse light, splice it to the green one.
